Calcium is essential as the mineralising agent for the bones and teeth and assists in maintaining a healthy nervous system, particularly in the transmission of nerve impulses. Magnesium is also necessary for the nervous system and a sufficiency is required to maintain nerve health.

Both are presented together because too much Calcium can lead to low levels of Magnesium. Adequate Magnesium is required to help guide the deposition of Calcium in to the bones rather than to the soft tissues of the body.
